Campaign priorities

Repeal the Assault Weapons Ban

The assault weapons ban took effect on July 1 and, in his view, will not stop crime while turning law-abiding residents into criminals. He says he will vote to repeal it.

Local Control of Zoning and Land Use

If something is getting built in Scituate, he believes Scituate should decide. He says the state keeps overriding local planning and zoning boards and that he will fight to restore local control.

Taxes and Cost of Living

He points to the conveyance-tax increase, Rhode Island's non-portable estate tax starting below $2 million, the non-owner-occupied surcharge, and business surtaxes as reasons it is getting more expensive both to live in Rhode Island and to pass assets on to family.

Schools and Parental Voice

He wants more money to reach classrooms, more secure school buildings, and a stronger voice for parents. As a father of four, he says this is a personal priority.

Keeping Doctors in Rhode Island

He argues that long waits for primary-care appointments, residents driving to Massachusetts, and doctors closing practices or leaving the state all show a healthcare access problem that the legislature should address.
