About the Project

The Rhode Island Elections Project is an interactive public-facing research initiative focused on Rhode Island legislative elections from 2012 through 2024. The project combines district-level election data, historical comparison, and digital mapping to make the composition of the Rhode Island House and Senate more accessible to students, researchers, journalists, and the public.

Scope
State legislative election results, district composition, and historical change over time.
Goal
Build a clear and interactive interface for exploring Rhode Island elections ahead of future cycles.

Nicholas Labriola

Nicholas Labriola is a graduate student in International Relations at the University of Rhode Island. He earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Bonn, with a minor in German Constitutional Law, and received the highest academic distinction for his undergraduate thesis.

His research interests include European security and defense policy, peace and conflict studies, and U.S. politics. At URI, he serves as a Teaching Assistant in the Political Science Department and as Vice-President of the Graduate Senate Assembly.

Nicholas has experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including R, SPSS, and Excel. He is fluent in English and German, with working knowledge of Spanish and basic proficiency in Russian.

Portrait of Fabio Muscianisi

Fabio Muscianisi

Fabio Muscianisi is an undergraduate student at the University of Rhode Island and an international student from Italy. He completed his high school education in Rhode Island and is majoring in Engineering.

At URI, he is involved with the SURF Fellowship Program, through which he is developing research experience and academic engagement in his field of study.
