Mission Statement

The Rhode Island Elections Project promotes a more transparent and accessible democratic process by providing open, nonpartisan access to election data, research, and interactive tools. Through maps, results, turnout analysis, and precinct-level information, the project helps Rhode Islanders better understand how elections shape representation across the state.

Scope
State legislative election results, turnout analysis, precinct tools, and historical change from 2012 through 2024.
Mission
Expand public access to election data and research through open, interactive, and nonpartisan civic tools.

Portrait of Nicholas Labriola

Nicholas Labriola

Nicholas Labriola is the founder of the Rhode Island Elections Project and a graduate student in International Relations. He earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Bonn, with a minor in German Constitutional Law, and received the highest academic distinction for his undergraduate thesis.

His research interests include European security and defense policy, peace and conflict studies, and U.S. politics. He has experience in teaching, academic organizing, and public-facing civic data work.

Nicholas has experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including R, SPSS, and Excel. He is fluent in English and German, with working knowledge of Spanish and basic proficiency in Russian.

Fabio Muscianisi

Fabio Muscianisi is an undergraduate engineering student and an international student from Italy. He completed his high school education in Rhode Island and contributes technical and research support to the project.

He is developing research and technical experience through project-based work focused on civic data, mapping, and public-facing tools.
